Thankful…
Today I got a few little gifts for my grandmothers, Laura and my mama in the mail!!! So excited! I also got my computer chord in the mail so my computer now works!!!!
I snagged Uriah’s computer for a second – my electrical chord for my lap top went out. I ordered another one but I have no idea when it’ll get here – so haven’t replied to emails or anything for days due to that ….
and I JUST got my phone working again – new phone, but same number. My voicemail was out for a couple days but now it’s back.
Craziness.
Soldier’s phone conversation with Chelsea this morning …
Soldier ” Hi! Ok you go to the LEFT then you get to Megan’s house and she’ll let you know how to get to my house! But remember, go LEFT!”
My kids ask me everyday when we’re going to our house in North Carolina – they cannot wait! Soldier can’t wait to show Theo and Avi his new rocks and toys – not sure how we’re going to bring those things but I’ll have to fit them in somehow.
We went to Ikea yesterday – if I had thousands of dollars to spend. That’s one of the places I’d go. The way the store is set up is thoroughly annoying tho – they make it so you HAVE to go through the whole store in order to get out! It’s crazy – it’s one long maze that once you start, you have to finish. With toddlers that can be a little challenging – we got a couple fun things there.
113 is gonna be the high today! My air conditioner is now fixed down stairs so, bring it!
Discouraging!
We have these nasty little gnats everywhere! Yesterday Soldier noticed tons of them at our back door – so I quickly examined the door and windows – finding literally hundreds of thousands of gnats inside and out! I vacuumed up all of them and within 30 minutes there were thousands more! So every hour all day I’d vacuum – until Uriah got home with some bug killer! He killed I don’t even know how many – well they’re back and now they’re also upstairs in my bedroom – one is crawling on my computer screen as I write this. Millions of gnats are in my backyard and coming into my house! Very frustrating!
Also, I just got some shoes from Shiekh.com – DO NOT EVER USE THEM!!! This is a warning!!! They’ve got great prices – I got my shoes today – they’re white. One shoe is glossy white and one is flat white – the glossy one has two spots where they’ve added white out or maybe white nail polish or something? to cover up something? They’re damaged pretty badly – the inside is blackened from what looks like being used – I was so sad! So do not not not ever use this company! On the bright side, I get to do some more shoe shopping!!
“The kindness and love of God our Savior.” Titus 3:4
“…By faith we see, as in a glass darkly, the reflected image of His unbounded treasures, but when we shall actually see the heavenly things themselves, with our own eyes, how deep will be the stream of fellowship in which our soul shall bathe itself! Till then our loudest sonnets shall be reserved for our loving benefactor, Jesus Christ our Lord, whose love to us is wonderful, passing the love of women.”
I have started a journal, trying to recapture some of my childhood. It’s been quite entertaining! The little details that stick in your head – some memories I have when I was really little – like maybe 5 or 6? – anyways, some memories make me die laughing while I’m writing them. Like when we went camping – it was probably the worst family vacation ever – it was like one of those Chevy Chase movies! In a short couple day trip Vicki got burned and had to go to the nearest hospital (which if I remember correctly was pretty far away), I couldn’t shower (which was just as devastating as Vicki getting burned!), we didn’t catch any fish – wait, was this the same camping trip? There were two dreadful camping trips. But looking back on them I laugh harder then all my memories together – one night we got flooded out of our tents and all of us ended up in the van – in the middle of the night! But instead of remembering the misery I remember once we got into the van how much we all laughed. What else was there to do? It was storming and our tents were flooding – and we were in the van! In the middle of the woods! Anyways, this has been a fun journal to keep up. I’m looking forward to giving it to Mom and Dad when I’m done.
I’ve got a lot to do today then hopefully I’ll get a couple hours to take the kids back to the pool!!
Fun preparation…
Getting ready for my sister’s wedding is really fun! I keep thinking about little stories of her growing up – playing Simba and Nala on her hands and knees, catching lizards, the massive amount of stuffed animals she had – it’s kinda crazy to think of her getting married! I ordered Naomi’s flower girl dress with a red sash – couldn’t find one with an eggplant purple sash – so I bought the material and made one. Look how cute she is!
My friend Megan – her neighbor just moved and before the house is taken over by the bank we have a couple of days to use their pool! So the kids are really excited to do that - esp because of how hot it is here! It is up to 110 this week.
This rediculous heat makes you want to eat fruit all the time! For every meal! I bought a bunch of fruit two days ago and it’s already gone – my kids eat mandarin oranges, pears, apples, bananas and watermelon everyday! Gets kinda expensive. Today we ran some errands and I went by the post office where I finally got a book I ordered over a week ago! It’s called the Christ Centered Life – thankfully it’s nap time so I get to start it asap!
7 Years!
Based on east coast time – 7 years ago almost to the minute – I was heading to the church for pictures!
7 years ago today I married someone who would lay down his life over and over and over again for me – I didn’t fully comprehend the treasure I had at the time – he’s so amazing, wonderful and sexy and I thank the Lord He gave him to me! Happy Anniversary, Baby!!! Here’s to 60 more!!
